_ 鳥に手から直接えさを上げることを仕込んでいるとき、絶対唾を飲み込んではいけない。なぜなら、鳥は自分に対して食欲を抱いている思い込んで、飛び去ってしまうからだ。なんて本に書いてあったけどホントかな。そんなこと意識せずにえさあげてたけど。
_ ぼくの知人のなかで（時と場合によっては）いちばん美しい女性が、ぼくのそばで同じ一節を読んで言った。
「男ってやたら唾を飲む動物だなあって思ってたけど、あれは食べたいってことなの？」
どき。おまえ耳いいよそれ。それとも喉を見るのかな？
思わず、この女の前で何度不用意に唾を飲み込んでしまったか、考えてしまう。
