大竹昭子の『図鑑少年』（小学館）は、そろそろ品切れになりそうな予感がする。散歩ものの白眉。書いているのが誰か、ときおり忘れ去っているような筆致だから、歩くのは本にまかせて読者もふわふわと心をさまよわせることができる。短く区切られてはいるけれども、いつまでも続くひとつの散歩のようにメリハリがない。開けばいつでも始めることができるお散歩のような本。そして閉じても帰ってこなくていい、そういうお散歩の本。
読書の思い出であるよりむしろ、お散歩の思い出のように体と心に残る。

藤代冥砂『ドライ』（宝島社）もよかった。テーマはセックス限定で55編。自分のことでもあろう、知っているあの人のことでもあろうと思われるありがちな話ばかりだが、アルコールかなにかが口を滑らせなければ話されることはない程度には鮮烈だったり背徳的だったりして、あまり他人から聞かされる機会がない話。そういうバランスなので、たとえば電車のなかで自然に視線が留まった魅力的な人の、頭の中で反芻されている記憶がどういうわけか読み取れてしまって、本人に成り代わって照れ臭いような、もうけてしまったような気分になる。だから内容はそんなにHではないのだが、読後感はとてもH。

以前紹介したローラ・カシシュケ『沈みゆく女』は、ごく少数の人から「すごくよかった」という言葉をいただいたが、その後ヴィレッジブックスから『春に葬られた光』という文庫が出ている。こちらはローラ・カジシュキーという表記になっているので、チェック漏れしている人がいるかもしれない。詩的過ぎるほど詩的な文体は健在である。この人の文章は心を引っ掻いてくるし、読んでいると動揺してくるので、じつは『沈みゆく女』もまだ読了していない。『春に葬られた光』も読み始めて最初の数十ページでいっぱいいっぱいになってしまった。しかし読んだ部分だけでも、どこに納まるかわからない未確定の印象がいくつか、心のあちこちにぶつかっては反響している。読み終わりもしないで言うが、傑作である。
