2007-06-22 ゆっくりしたお報せと急報

_ やっとネット環境が整ったので、さんざっぱら不義理をしていた方々に、そろそろメールを出していけそうな気がしています。すべての方のもとにたちまち届く、というわけにはいかないと思いますが。

『八本脚の蝶』が品切重版未定になってしまいました。手許に置くつもりで、まだ持っていない方は、流通在庫があるうちにご入手ください。いつか誰かに贈り物にする機会がありそうだと思う方も。

みどり書房桑野店にも、もう五冊しかありません。油断しました。

わが家には『八本脚の蝶』は、３冊ありますよ。 私が「読み倒し、書き込み尽くし」たものが１冊、だからその予備を、と思ったときに、「誰かの贈り物にするかも」と、とっさに「２冊」って注文してしまったのです。 この「私」にとっては手放せぬ、「使い倒し（というわけではないけれど）」は１冊、もし、もう１冊誰かに贈りたい、と思っても、予備が１冊残ります。 というのも、私が誰かにこの本を贈ろうと思う日が来るとしても、それは複数回ではないだろうから、そうしてその場合でも、私の手元には、あちこちの頁が折られ書き込みばかりの「この１冊」だけでも大丈夫だから、だからいよいよ「どうしても」という事態になったなら、この部屋にある「１冊」、放出します。 別の誰かに読まれてこそ、の物語です（そうではない一面も、私にはわかっているつもり）。 ここ「空耳」だけで、ほんとにほんとの「どーしても」は受け付けます。 でもそうなると、当然ながら「雪雪さん」を通して、という方法しかありませんね。 「最後の一葉」ならぬ「最後の１冊」の恐喝のようにもなってしまいましたが、むしろ私は「復刊」あるいは「重版再開」を願っているのです。 そのような声が臨界値に高まるまで、私の「最後の１冊」は、そうそう簡単には放出しませんよ。 そのつもりですが、雪雪さん、それでいいでしょうか。

はじめまして。Biancaと申します。 私は大学で二階堂奥歯さんの七年後輩です。昨年取った『哲学基礎講義』の授業中に鹿島徹先生が紹介してくださったのがきっかけで、二階堂奥歯さんの『八本脚の蝶』の存在を知りました。 奥歯さんとは知識も思考能力も比べ物にならない程はるかに低い私がこんなことを言うのはおこがましいですが、『八本脚の蝶』を読んでいると、なんだか自分と重なり合う部分がたくさんあります。切なくなって、涙がぽろぽろこぼれます。今でも、ほとんど毎日読んでいます。そうすることによって、自分が浄化されていくような感じもします。 もし奥歯さんが今も生きていたら、ひょっとするとどこかで出会えたかもしれない、お話ができたかもしれない、そう思うと残念でなりません。ただ一つ言えるのは、奥歯さんは私の尊敬する先輩であり、これから先もそれは決して変わらないだろうということです。 まとまりのない文で失礼しました。

雪雪さん、お久しぶりです。 私は春から上京して現在寮にいるのですが、引越しの準備中に持って行く本を選んでいた時、真っ先に詰め込んだのが『八本脚の蝶』です。 他のどの本を置いていったとしても、これだけは自分の傍に置いていきたいと思いました。 そしてこの先もずっと奥歯さんの物語は私に読まれ続けていくのでしょう。 残りの物語も、これから出会うべき人のもとへ無事に届きますように。

☆Bianca さんへ はじめまして。 『八本脚の蝶』を大切に読んでいただいてありがとうございます。 実を言うとぼくは、『八本脚の蝶』を長いこと読んでいません。 旧友にひさしぶりに会うと、おたがいに老けたことに驚くわけですが、自分の顔は髭を剃るたびに見ているので、落差を感じない。 二階堂奥歯は、ぼくにとってある種の鏡だったので、そこに映るじぶんを、しばらく見ないでおきたいのだと思います。そしてもうひとつ、二階堂奥歯に、ひさしぶりに会うようにして会いたいのだと思います。

☆Lanaさんへ おひさしぶりです。 『八本脚の蝶』はかわりになる本がなくて、たくさんの人が大切にしてくださっています。それでも流通に乗り続けるのは容易ではない。 マイナーな本は、力を入れて売ったり薦めたりしていると呆気なく品切になってしまい、そのまま入手困難になってしまうことが多くて、今までたくさんのすてきな本を店頭から消してしまいました。痛し痒しです。 まあ、売ったり薦めたりしなければ、それはそれで読み手を得ないまま消えてしまうのですが。
