粉のような船が航海してきて、「水害対策は万全ですので、お気になさらずに」と、蚊の鳴くような拡声器で言う。

夏草が繁り道が枯れる。

書き留めないまま薄れてしまった詩がある日訪ねてくる。

こちらは書いたことをはっきり憶えていない。あちらはこちらが作者であることにいまひとつ確信がない。

「たったひとつの手がかりなんです」と、旧い写真を差し出てくる。美しくはあるが特徴のない顔立ちの詩が、目の前の詩とおなじ鶸色の和服を着て枝折戸の前に立っている。写真の詩と私のあいだに、目の前の若い詩が生まれたということなのか。しかしやはり、確信がない。誰が作者でもいいような変哲ない詩である。

責任逃れをするつもりはないが「これだけではなんとも」私は口ごもる。

「わたくしの、推敲だけでもしていただけないでしょうか」

ああ、確かにすてきだと思うよその語尾のふるえ。けどそう言って帯を解くな。

横から失礼します。 「五百文字の心臓」がとても気になったので、検索かけて行ってみました。 こういう世界があったのですね！ 超短篇というジャンルの新鮮さと、秀作揃いな作品の数々に気がつくといつの間にか読みふけってしまいました。 興味を持ったので試しにメールマガジンの登録をしてみました。 私が言うのもなんですが、トーナメントぜひ見守らせて頂きたいと思います。 頑張って下さい！

☆Lanaさん応援ありがとうございます！ そうなんです、ああいう世界があったのですよ。 超短編と私を結び付けてくれたのは他ならぬ二階堂奥歯さんで、彼女と出会わなければ「空耳」を始めることも「叙景集」を書くことも「500文字」に投稿することもなかったでしょう。私にとって超短編を書いたり読んだりすることは、鬱傾向や不安に対する抵抗力になってくれているようで、とても援けられています。このあたりのことはいつか書きたくなるかもしれません。 ちなみに「500文字」の自由題選者のひとり松本楽志さんは『八本脚の蝶』の寄稿者のひとりでもあります。トーナメントでも困ったことにベスト８に残ってくださっています。すでに短編小説で商業デビューされていて当然優勝候補です。奥歯も「楽志さんはすごい」と言っておりました。くわばらくわばらです。
