2007-05-26 髭の本心

_ 新しい電気カミソリを買った。インベーダーの侵略母船みたいにかっこいい。髭たちもわーいわーいと歓声を上げて剃られていくが、イントネーションが平板なところが気になる。ほんとうは嬉しくないのだろうか。そうならそうと言ってくれればいいんだよ、と思うが、そう言われてもやはり剃るしかないのだと思い至って、仏心と顔を見合わせると、仏心にも髭がない。

イントネーションが平板なのは、私も気になります。 またもやお恥ずかしい話をするようですが、私は幼少の頃、父の電気カミソリの「あの音」に憧れていました。 自分に髭のないことを少しだけ恨めしく思いながら。 私もあれで自分の髭を剃ってみたいな、などと、ヘンな子ども。 でも近年、「それに代わる（というほどでもないが）」ものを見つけました。 電池式の「毛玉取り」です。 あれでウールのセーターや靴下（の踵とか）の毛玉を「ジョリジョリ」するのです。 やってて実感しました、私はほんとうは、自分の髭（無いけど）をこうやって剃ってみたかったんだ……と。 それにも、それなりのイントネーションがあって、愉しいものです。 靴下の毛玉と一緒にするな！　と、髭たちには思われるでしょうけれども。 仏心も、もしかしたら剃りたいのに髭がないのかもしれません。 機会があったら、仏心にも訊いてみていください、髭剃りの、前に。 蛇足ですが、私の妹は全く逆で、「毛玉を大事に」します。 だってこれもセーターの一部でしょ、取ったらそれだけセーターが減るでしょ……！ 言われてみれば確かにそのとおり、のようにも、思われる。 毛玉をジョリジョリすることに愉しみを見出す姉を、毛玉を育てて悦に入っている妹。 いうれにしても妙な姉妹では、あります。
